The Health Center Clinical Manager (HCCM) is responsible and accountable for health center clinical operations, and programs, working collaboratively as a part of the center leadership triad with the Center Medical Director and Administrator/Office Manager to provide safe, high-quality, effective, and efficient medical care. The HCCM also works cross-organizationally and participates in organization committees and other groups as assigned. The HCCM is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient care for their patient population through specialty and primary care home models effectively and efficiently. Utilizing reporting tools and tracking as well as observation, the HCCM monitors' patient volumes, quality of care, and staff performance to identify areas for improvement and enact changes to achieve that improvement as appropriate. The HCCM is the functional authority for nursing and medical assistant duties, monitoring their practice and ensuring personnel are appropriately trained and qualified for their responsibilities and that they are performing their care by standards and policies for their profession and the organization. Provides appropriate coordination for residency programs/activities as indicated. Proactively evaluates, and supports multidisciplinary research/improvement activities in the center that will contribute to the BMS mission and strategic plan, provide advancement in clinical practice for the BMS population, resources are available, and will not negatively impact the quality of care provided. As a clinical nurse, the HCCM is capable of performing the duties of the Charge and Clinical Care nurses in case staffing needs warrant. Communication skills are required to persuade or gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas. Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service. Communication with external contacts involves handling complaints, making adjustments, corrections, etc.
