JOB TITLE: Live Hot Dog Race Performers
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Baltimore Orioles seek part-time Live Hot Dog Race Performers for game days, events, and public appearances to take on the persona of Ketchup, Mustard, and Relish a.k.a. the Camden Franks. New to the Baltimore Orioles in 2024, the Camden Franks have become a fan favorite, racing along the warning track head-to-head in the middle of the 4th inning.
This is a year-round position who will be responsible for the following:
- Embracing the persona of the Camden Franks and their personalities
- Running in Live Hot Dog Race during select Orioles home games
- Meeting with fans during pregame in the concourse
- Acting as a handler during select home games when not scheduled to be in costume
- Positively representing and promoting the Baltimore Orioles brand at Orioles home games and public appearances
- Being responsible and accountable to appearance schedules; arriving on time and remaining for the duration of games, events, and public appearances
- Exhibiting strong non-verbal communication skills while in costume
- Demonstrating an outgoing performance personality with an ability to interact with fans
- Maintaining a professional demeanor in and out of costume
- Caring for mascot costume and props
- Various event-related responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; 4-year college degree preferred
- Previous experience as a mascot performer preferred
- Must be able to work at least 25% of Orioles home games including nights and weekends
- Must be flexible and willing to work long hours
- Ability to run from centerfield to first base (approximately 150 yards) in costume
- Ability to work offseason events, when necessary
Ideal Candidate:
- Height of 5’ 5” to 6’ 2” in order to fit into costume
- An energetic, positive, and enthusiastic personality
- Athletic and physically fit enough to wear the costume while running and in extreme heat
- Outgoing and ready to handle anything presented
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, think creatively, and problem solve
- Must be a team-first player who works well with others
- Punctual and professional
