The Opportunity
The Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership (BRHP), which operates the Baltimore Housing Mobility Program, is a 501(c)(3) that assists over 4,000 qualified families in moving from areas of concentrated poverty and obtaining quality and affordable housing in communities with strong schools, low crime, and ample job opportunities in high opportunity areas within Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard Counties.
BRHP is seeking a Staff Accountant who is aligned with the mission above and experienced in nonprofit and government financial operations, while overseeing specific financial transactions for the organization. The Staff Accountant will report to the Finance Director and the Deputy Finance Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of the work for the Staff Accountant. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, or skills required.
- Assist with monthly payment process of approximately $7 million
- Prepare Voucher Management System (VMS) financial and unit reporting to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
- Manage vendor setup and process changes to existing vendor details
- Manage deposit handling and transaction recording in the accounting system
- Manage repayment agreement transactions.
- Provide staff support to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Assist with the yearly financial and single audits and tax returns.
- Assist with special projects.
- Provide support to the Finance Operations Director & Deputy and the Executive Director
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required1-2 years of experience in financial operations of a nonprofit organization that receives federal fundsAdvanced knowledge of financial management and internal controlsAdept with QuickBooks and Microsoft ExcelPreferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Yardi databaseExperience processing Accounts PayableFamiliarity with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Voucher Management System (VMS)General Requirements

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
