Direct Care Staff

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to an individual with varying needs, autism, cognitive impairment, and other long-term care requirements. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our client through personalized care and support. We are not an agency, we are the Guardians of the client and manage the home. We do utilize closed circuit cameras for training purposes and the safety of all those in the home. We are very involved in the care of our son as well as interacting very regularly with staff members. We are very proud of the program that we have built and insist on staff members who wish to see our vision and goals met for the client on a regular basis. The client is a large male and is 2:1 staffing for each shift. Qualified candidate would have experience dealing with behavioral clients to make sure that the care for the client is appropriate as well as being able to support your team member.

ATTENDANCE MUST BE SOMETHING YOU CAN BE CONSISTENT WITH DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS JOB. THOSE WITH ATTENDANCE ISSUES WILL BE DISMISSED RELATIVELY QUICKLY.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals. Administer/record medication multiple times daily.

• Provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Support clients in social interactions and community engagement to promote independence.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each client.
• Assist with tolieting/brief changes and other self care.
• Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and any changes in condition.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• RECENT Experience in direct support or home care is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
• A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of clients.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
