Early Learning Specialist (K/1) – Summer Camp (6 week position)
Ready to make this summer unforgettable? We’re looking for enthusiastic Early Learning Specialists to join our Summer Camp team and lead exciting activities for children in grades K/1! Whether you’re passionate about music & stories or movement & games, this is your chance to create a fun, engaging, and educational summer experience for young learners.
As an Early Learning Specialist, you will have the opportunity to inspire creativity, build confidence, and provide an exciting, hands-on learning environment that will spark a love of learning in every child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead vibrant music & stories sessions or fun-filled movement & games activities that are tailored to the needs and interests of children in grades K/1.
- Create an energetic and engaging atmosphere where children can explore, express themselves, and participate in activities that promote their physical, social, and cognitive growth.
- Foster a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment where children feel comfortable to explore, take risks, and develop new skills.
- Plan and implement creative, age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the camp’s goals, ensuring each day is filled with fun and meaningful learning experiences.
- Guide children through a structured daily routine, encouraging positive participation, good behavior, and teamwork in every activity.
- Build positive relationships with each child, ensuring their safety and well-being while providing mentorship and encouragement.
- Work closely with the Summer Camp leadership team to ensure program goals are met and that the overall experience is enriching for every camper.
- Communicate with parents during pick-up and drop-off times, building positive relationships and keeping families informed of their child’s progress and experiences.
Qualifications:
- A love for working with young children and creating a positive, engaging summer experience.
- Experience in early childhood education or a background in leading activities with K/1 age groups (music, storytelling, games, or movement a plus!).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Patience, creativity, and the ability to manage a group of young campers while keeping things fun and engaging.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where all children can thrive.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp begins).
