Responsibilities
How You Can Make a Real Impact:
The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for planning, monitoring and implementing an instructional lesson plan, of high quality, that is in alignment with the NJ Student Learning Standards in all core subjects. Ability to make appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with multiple disabilities.
- Assess students’ individual abilities and create customized lessons plans
- Address specific Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and encourage skill-building
- Review IEPs to ensure goals are appropriate and recommend modifications
- Provide training for parents, in the classroom and at home
- Communicate with students, families, and guardians

Qualifications
We’re Hiring Compassionate Team Members Who:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree
- Are eligible for teaching certification, such as “NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities” or “Teacher of the Handicapped”
- Are eligible for highly-qualified Teacher status
- Have effective teaching, facilitation, and communications skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience teaching Special Education
- Knowledge of teaching methods designed for students with learning, physical, and behavior disabilities
