VP, Residential Mortgage Operations Manager
Banesco USA is searching for their new VP, Residential Mortgage Operations Manager for our Residential Department.
Primary Job Duties
- Maintain responsibility for all lending functions which may include but are not limited to underwriting, funding, processing, and closing.
- Monitor pipeline to ensure internal compliance policies are enforced and customer service standards are met or exceeded.
- Ensure required documentation is received.
- Hold weekly pipeline meetings that review every loan scheduled to close in detail over the next 60 days.
- Facilitates as needed in underwriting of new and existing residential loans, mostly for complex requests, to assess the financial condition, repayment capacity, and risks associated with the transaction.
- Perform review of appraisal reports to ensure the collateral property meets Bank’s guidelines and secondary market eligibility.
- Work with Processing and Underwriting teams to clear conditions, resolve any issues, and restructure the loan as needed to ensure a timely, smooth, and successful loan closure.
- Update and maintain workflows, procedures, and policies to make sure operations run smoothly and address challenges with strategic solutions as they come up.
- Guide Residential Lending Officers to make sure that loan applications are submitted to Processing and/or Underwriting on time.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of government and conventional lending programs, including housing assistance and state-specific programs and requirements, and keep informed of industry updates and changes.
- Maintain constant knowledge of competitor's rates and terms. Stay abreast of all market trends relating to mortgage lending.
- Successfully establish and maintain effective business relationships with all vendors.
- Responsible for complying and adhering to the Bank’s Credit Policy in addition to all state and federal regulatory compliance requirements.
- Responsible for updating loan data in the Encompass Loan Origination system including all financial information and HMDA data points.
- Assist in providing updated industry changes to ensure the Residential Procedures Manual is current based on current market updates.
- Responsible for completing annual training program assigned.
- Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Ten (10) years of experience in the Banking Industry, particularly involved in Residential and Consumer credit risk functions, and at least Five (5) years of management experience or leading a team.
- Advance computer skills including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and Encompass Loan Origination System
- Advanced underwriting knowledge of residential loans, as well as specialized loans which include but are not limited to secondary market transactions, construction-to-perm, HELOC’s and bridge loans.
- Knowledge of lending activities including credit policies, procedures, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations.
- Preferred bilingual in both English and Spanish. Ability to fluently speak, understand, read and write both languages.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to multi-task, with strong organization, time-management and prioritizing skills.
- Strong customer service skills, selling and cross-selling techniques ensuring satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills make determination to providing customers with solutions.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in daily tasks ensuring assignments and goals are met on time.
