Job Description:
Pharmacy Technician
A pharmacy technician is an essential member of the Bangor Drug team. This position will provide support for multiple areas of operation within the pharmacy including customer service, answering telephones, patient interaction, data entry, prescription preparation, third party billing troubleshooting, sales of prescriptions, and much more.
Reports to:
Pharmacist in Charge
Work Schedule:
Variable with possibility of evenings and weekends
Store hours are 8a-7p Monday through Friday and 9a to 5p Saturday and Sunday.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurate processing and filling of prescriptions under the direction of a registered pharmacist in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations.
- Generate patient-related documentation and other information as requested.
- Models excellent customer service both in person, via telephone, and email/facsimile communication.
- Collect pertinent information from customers or nursing facilities to assist in the efficient processing of prescriptions.
- Proficient in checking voicemail and able to answer doctor calls efficiently.
- Alert manager to any problems or situations as they occur and enlist his/her help if necessary.
- Prescription data entry
- Prescription drug selection from inventory
- Counting, packaging, and labeling of prescription drugs for delivery

- Active Maine Board of Pharmacy technicians’ license. If not licensed at date of hire, Bangor Drug will submit the appropriate paperwork with the Board of Pharmacy during the first week of hire.

- High School Diploma/GED
Working Conditions:
- Working with computers, typing, reading, writing
- Extending body and limbs to reach items.
- Lifting, moving, and loading (20-30 lbs.)
- Continuous sitting or standing
