As a Lifeguard at the Bangor Region YMCA, you’ll become an integral part of our dedicated Aquatics team, delivering top-tier aquatic programs to the vibrant and diverse community of Penobscot County. We’re looking for dynamic individuals who are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for all swimmers.

You’ll embody our core values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty, building strong relationships with individuals and families from all walks of life—ranging from infants to seniors.
Our lifeguards don’t just safeguard swimmers; they play a vital role in fostering a supportive community atmosphere, ensuring every patron enjoys a safe, enjoyable experience. If you're passionate about providing excellent customer service, making a difference in people’s lives, and contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment, we’d love to have you join us!
We prefer a current lifeguard certification, but a special scholarship opportunity exists for the right person. Scholarships available to cover the training. You must be a strong swimmer (will need to pass a test), have good availability and an exceptional and positive attitude.
