- Appropriate teaching certificate required (510 Physical Education)
- Current adapted physical education endorsement required (515 Adapted Physical Ed)
- Utilize reources adopted by the Bangor School Committee and other appropriate learning activities
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
- Develop lesson plans and instructional material. Provide individualized instruction and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the students
- Maintains required inventory record
- Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Assesses the accomplishment of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required
- Supervises pulils out of classroom activities during the assigned work day
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Communicates effectively through written and electronic modes
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities
- Participates cooperatively with all staff members and successfully functions as a collaborative team member
- Performs such other duties, consistent with the position, as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
