What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Bank & Investment Group?
Primary Purpose :
Assisting with various duties within the Accounting Department of TowneBank and / or its affiliated companies. Staff Accountant role could include a variety of accounting and finance related functions within the department based on the experience and interests of the individual candidate and the needs of the accounting department.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Perform projects and research as assigned.
- Recording journal entries and the preparation of reconciliations.
- Manage and reconcile the Bank's Brinks and Loomis Inventories.
- Maintain appropriate monetary balances at each correspondent bank.
- Serve as Back up to Assistant Treasurer for public deposits and investment activity.
- Serve as Back up for the Federal Reserve Bank account reconciliation.
- Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
