What You’ll Be Doing
As a Credit Analyst at Bank Iowa, you will analyze loan requests, establish standards and manage submission and completion process for commercial loan requests bank-wide, generally in excess of $500M of total commitments. This role analyzes complex commercial loan requests, identifying strengths and weaknesses, providing recommendations for both loan structure and monitoring, and noting any deviations from loan policy, as appropriate. Also reports on on-going status of submissions in commercial credit request queue.
- Develops and maintains submission standards to commercial credit underwriting department.Reads and comprehends complex accounting and financial transactions necessary in the analysis of commercial credit requests.
- Evaluates and spreads client financial information within Lending Cloud, the bank’s analytical and spreading platform.
- Analyzes and comments on client financial information as is relates to performance, efficiency, and trends of the following: Balance sheets, Income statements, Tax returns, and Supplemental schedules such as accounts receivable agings, accounts payable agings, rent rolls, and other common accounting documents.
- Calculates risk ratings based on available financial information
- Provides recommendations for industry standard loan covenants, tracking mechanisms, reporting quality and frequency based on available information.
- Prepares credit presentations for commercial credit requests, which serve as the basis for bank-wide approval processes.
This is a full-time position and typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Requirements
Skills/Experience You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other applicable major.
- 4-6 years Credit Analyst experience, or comparable role.
- Ideal candidates will have experience using Moody’s Lending Cloud, have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, show strong financial and analytical skills, and have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
