Job Description:
Associate, Municipal Banking & Markets
- Public Finance Associate with experience in all aspects of municipal bond origination and issuance
- Public Finance is the Investment Banking team within BofA’s Municipal Banking and Markets (“MBAM”) group. Clients are state and local governmental entities (i.e. states, cities, counties, municipal utilities, transportation agencies, educations, etc.), as well as other not-for-profit entities
- Public finance investment bankers help Municipal issuers access the bank and capital markets to fund important new projects or to refinance/restructure existing debt
- BofA’s MBAM group provides investment banking (through Public Finance), commercial banking (through our Public Sector Banking group), underwriting, sales & trading, etc. (through our Municipal Markets team) to Municipal issuers
- BofA also offers municipal issuers access to direct bank lending structures though Bank of America, N.A.
Responsibilities
- Assist bankers in capital raising and strategic advisory transactions for governmental, not-for-profit and/or developer clients
- Develop and maintain complicated financial cash flow models, using DBC, Excel and proprietary software
- Provide execution support for all aspects of a transaction, including financial analyses, bond structuring, documentation review, regulatory compliance, and closing logistics
- Assist in development of comprehensive and in-depth client and deal materials, including RFPs, pitch books, credit and rating agency presentations, and investor marketing materials
- Work independently to develop plans of finance, credit analyses, financial analyses, and other client materials
- Assist with deal execution process, including coordination with deal team members and clients
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, law firms and financial advisors including formal and informal presentations
- Assist in training and mentoring junior personnel in financial analysis, bond structuring, credit review and deal execution process
- Appropriately represent BofA in working group calls/meetings, client interactions, and other opportunities
