Bank of Ann Arbor is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and motivated Mortgage Loan Processor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing loan applications for completeness and preparing loans for submission to underwriting. Daily tasks include making Welcome Calls, communicating loan approval conditions with applicants in order to obtain necessary documentation, sending files to underwriting, and managing timelines to ensure loan closes efficiently and timely.

Bank of Ann Arbor is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and motivated Mortgage Loan Processor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing loan applications for completeness and preparing loans for submission to underwriting. Daily tasks include making Welcome Calls, communicating loan approval conditions with applicants in order to obtain necessary documentation, sending files to underwriting, and managing timelines to ensure loan closes efficiently and timely.
Essential Functions
- Loan product knowledge, familiar with FHA, VA and CONV guidelines
- Ability to self-manage a pipeline of 25-30 loans per month, from submitted to underwriting to closed/funded
- Reviews underwriting findings, submits items requested to clear conditions; reviews closing conditions upon receipt of Notice of Loan Approvals and coordinates with Loan Officer to ensure all conditions are cleared.
- Reviews file for completeness, to include: receipt of payoff and insurance information, verifies all conditions have been cleared, title requirements have been met; reviews rate expiration dates to ensure adequate processing time.
- Updates pipeline and enters tracking data in Encompass to track and follow-up on files submitted to underwriting; including dates of contact to ensure that loans are decisioned in a timely manner.
- Processes and orders all necessary application and closing documents including but not limited to: payoff information, survey, insurance, condominium questionnaires, subordination requests, flood certification, verifications of employment/assets and completes title commitment review, and coordinates with loan officer to ensure accuracy.
- Completes "Change of Circumstance" documents as necessary when requested
- Coordinates closing schedule with loan officer; notes the closing date on calendar.
- Assumes additional duties as required.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant college courses or seminars in mortgage processing, accounting, underwriting and customer service.
- Minimum of 5 years previous mortgage processing and/or supervisory experience.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with bank staff, customers and other parties.
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks, pay attention to detail and be well organized.
