What is the Opportunity?

The Associate, Leveraged Acquisition Finance serves as a key member of the deal team, and will receive significant responsibility, deal experience, and client exposure. Additionally, the Associate is responsible for leading all aspects of a portfolio of closed transactions. You will coordinate agented deal closing, acting as an intermediary between the client, investors and internal procedures. The Associate will support the syndication process through interactions with prospective investors regarding diligence and other general information requests and will also support the Originations team through the generation of pitch books for refinancing, recapitalization and new issuance opportunities.

In this role you will :

  • Preparation of initial credit review pre-screens on new deals
  • Participating in the underwriting and business commitment process for new transactions
  • Performing industry and general economic research as part of transaction analysis;
  • Reviewing and analyzing company financial statements and other due diligence materials;
  • Assisting in the credit underwriting process including the drafting of sections of credit memo;
  • Aiding in the transaction closing process (loan execution, funding, and documentation) as well as general portfolio administration;
  • Analyzing monthly financials and tracking ongoing loan performance
  • Performing financial modeling and analysis
  • Working with execution teams of private equity clients during the diligence documentation and closing processes
  • Assisting in the customer on-boarding procedures including handling the KYC process

What will make you stand out

  • Experience in Leveraged Finance or a commercial credit underwriting role with a money center bank; prior formal credit training program experience
  • Experienced candidates will preferably have backgrounds in fixed income, investment banking or accounting
  • Strong quantitative and writing skills, including advanced financial modeling skills;
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and comfortable with managing multiple task assignments
  • Proficiency with financial statements and basic accounting
  • Strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated with the ability to work in a collegial "boutique" environment.
  • Essential Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance or Accounting with an excellent undergraduate academic record.
