020 CONTROLLERS - ACCOUNTING CLERK
JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the successful candidate performs a variety of duties including processing of accounts payable, maintaining department files and reconciling assigned general ledger accounts. The employee’s work influences the professional image of the Bank within the community it serves.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
An understanding of financial and analytical mathematical functions is necessary. Specialized training in principles of banking and accounting is required. An education beyond a high school diploma or specialized training in accounting with previous bank experience (one year minimum) would typically be required.
Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal communications, verbal and written, is mandatory. This position requires daily interaction with employees, vendors and senior management; concise communication, translation and interpretation of various concepts are critical.
A thorough knowledge of the procedures and policies related to the smooth functioning of bank accounting and a working knowledge of the computer systems for information retrieval is necessary.
Personal computer software applications (Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel) knowledge is critical.
Individual must exhibit good analytical and organizational capabilities.
Previous Accounts Payable experience preferred.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTATIONS (Weighting cannot exceed 100%; Each % represents the value of the job, not time spent):

Manages the Accounts Payable process. Processes invoices and reimbursement requests for employee expenses. Scans paid invoices, checks, and other AP items. Also reconciles AP GLs and files AP reports. (Weighting Percentage: 25%)
Provides support to employees on expense reporting and reimbursement process through Concur. (Weighting Percentage 10%):
Manages collection of data for agency reporting. Reviews expense reports for complete information on reportable entities and individuals. Prepares and provides reports to appropriate personnel on updated totals. (weighting Percentage 20%)
Reconciles various bank statements including Federal Reserve, Chase, UMB, ATM Clearing and Trust Checks. Identifies variations and notifies personnel for follow up. (Weighting Percentage: 15%)
Prepares many reports and entries including Senior Management Report, Usage Tax report, payroll entries, monthly accruals, cash ordering, and other reports/entries as assigned. (Weighting Percentage: 10%)
Performance Expectations and Measurements
All invoices processed shall have the necessary approvals on them or a notation explaining the exception. All invoices shall be accurately entered into the system.
Any assigned “due-from” reconciliations are to be reconciled daily with no unknown differences. Any exception items are to be fully documented.
The Senior Officer Expense Report will be submitted to Controller for review by the 5th working day after month-end closing.
Complete processing of payroll entries accurately by 3:00p.m. each Thursday before payday.
All filing will be completed within two working days.
Departmental Supply Order is to be submitted on Monday of each week for any needed supplies.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by the Controller or CFO to ensure a continuous workflow of daily operations.
Provides backup for Investment Accountant
Sorts and distributes mail daily.
