Job Summary
The teller position is the front line of the bank. They are responsible for many customer interactions and first impressions. We are searching for an organized, attentive bank teller to provide exceptional service to our customers by handling routine tasks. Tellers are personable, competent, trustworthy, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately while engaging the customers in a sincere conversation.

Customer Service Duties

  • Represent Bank professionally, efficiently, and tactfully
  • Acknowledge and greet customers with a smile, call customer by their name, ask if they need additional assistance, thank customer at end of every conversation
  • Follow all bank policies and procedures
  • Answer and assist incoming callers with questions and requests, subsequently route callers, as appropriate
  • Maintain confidentiality of the Bank’s records and customer information
  • Receive incoming Bank visitors and assist in directing them appropriately
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ethically conducts oneself consistently with sound banking practices and standards, upholding the values of the Bank
  • Always act with integrity and honesty
  • Always treat others with respect

General Duties and Qualifications

  • Process night deposit and mail-in deposits
  • Maintain proper cash levels in drawers, keeps cash secure, and maintain a high level of safety
  • Maintain and balance cash drawers and reconcile discrepancies
  • Package cash and roll coins to be stored in drawers or the bank vault
  • Assist customers with processing transactions, including but not limited to, withdrawals, or payments, transfers, redeem U.S. Savings Bonds, sell Cashier’s Checks
  • Assist customers with processing account deposits; verify cash and endorsements, make change and issue receipts
  • Knowledge of debits and credits preferred
  • Resolve customer complaints or discrepancies and answer any questions
  • Assist customers with entry/departure to safe deposit boxes
  • Service ATM according to schedule or need
  • Complete Bank Secrecy Act Reports and monitor as needed
  • Complete all required training
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned
  • Ensure bank is in compliance with federal banking regulations including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Community Reinvestment Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Federal Reserve’s ‘lettered” regulations, and Teller roles and responsibilities relating to each act
  • Work overtime, if needed
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Occasional travel for meetings, training, or other activities

Computer Skills

  • MS Office programs
  • Calculator
  • Typing
  • Ability to learn and use the Bank’s PC hardware and software

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Customer-facing and cash handling experience preferred
  • Ability to pass background checks
