Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Analyst Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the banking industry, particularly in commercial credit analysis and loan processes. You will have the chance to work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to key projects, and gain valuable exposure to the operations of a community-focused financial institution.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Credit Analyst Intern, you will assist in various tasks related to commercial loans, credit analysis, and customer support, including:
- Developing Credit Presentations:
- Review pertinent credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, and bank files.
- Analyze financial statements and related materials.
- Evaluate personal and business cash flow to assess repayment ability.
- Analyze collateral and its adequacy.
- Initiating the Loan Renewal Process:
- Input loan information into the credit underwriting system for new and renewed commercial loans and ACH requests.
- Access public databases for necessary documentation, including real estate tax bills, court reports, and DFI documentation, and UCC documents.
- Retrieve private database reports, including credit bureau and environmental data.
- Notify loan officers and assistants that loan renewals are established in the system and help manage documentation for next steps.
- Supporting Credit Duties:
- Scan credit documents into the bank's document warehousing system.
- Update customer tax and financial information tracking.
- Complete borrowing base agreements, appraisal and real estate evaluation reviews.
Qualifications & Skills
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management with at least two years of completed coursework.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work independently.
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 35-40 hours per week, during the summer.
