Description

Bank of Luxemburg is a growing community bank and is seeking a Retail Market Manager to oversee our Bellevue and Howard branches! We offer competitive pay along with a great culture and working environment.

Position Summary:

As an employee of the Bank, supports company culture and mission statement to Have a Positive Impact on People's Lives. Responsible for overseeing managers, supervisors and operations at designated branch locations. Assists with developing new deposit and loan business; ensures all activities run smoothly and efficiently for each branch; provides leadership, training and supervision to managers and other personnel; ensures compliance with Bank policies and procedures. Responsible for attaining established bank goals through active participation in sales management and business development programs. Performs supervisory duties of branch managerial staff and coordinates managerial staff coverage.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Oversees coordination of all deposit account activity and teller operations.

2. Promotes positive employee interaction, communication and productivity by effectively planning and organizing branch functions.

3. Evaluates the performance of direct reports, coaching to improve performance. Provides recommendations to SVP of Retail for compensation decisions, hiring and disciplinary action for direct reports.

4.Ensures that all direct and indirect reports are sufficiently trained in deposit relates procedures and compliance to perform their duties effectively and to avoid relates liability. Identifies area where ongoing education to the department employees is needed to ensure compliance, regulation and technical skills are maintained to fulfill their job responsibilities. Helps coordinate the education of new and existing products and procedures to all retail staff through sufficient sales efforts.

5. Works with the Senior Vice President of Retail to analyze and develop branch operational policy and procedures. Monitors the effectiveness and appropriateness of procedures and compliance in light of changing bank needs. Oversees the proper implementation of operational procedures and ensures adherence to them.

6. Helps direct the retail banking programs to ensure prompt, effective delivery of products and services to bank customers. Ensures that the services provided to customers are of high quality. Ensures that proper retail-related internal control procedures are in place, implemented consistently and are adjusted as necessary; provides input to other areas of bank operations to ensure that proper related control procedures are in place. Responsible for monitoring equipment and office supplies at all locations.

7. Develops and maintains new account relationships with existing and potential customers, selling bank services and products, negotiating price within company guidelines. Ensures retail-related customer complaints are handled effectively.

8. Assists in implementation of Business Development goals and programs. Actively assists, participates and creates training sessions of sales, business development, product knowledge and culture for the branch, market and/or department. Establishes plan to achieve branch deposit, fee income and other assigned goals.

9. Develops and maintains consumer lending relationships. Originates consumer loans, maintains compliance and determines ability for repayment by reviewing borrowing history and other relevant information. Prepares loan and presents recommendation for appropriate approval. Communicates loan decision with borrower. Explains terms and conditions with borrower and obtains necessary signatures and disburses loan proceeds. Responsible for the collection of delinquent loans.

10. Reviews and processes non-sufficient fund items for the branch. Initiates the deposit collection process for overdrawn accounts to avoid customer losses and reviews kiting reports to take action as needed.

11. Responsible for all branch expenses, building maintenance, monitoring equipment and over all facility upkeep for all branches within market area. Makes recommendations for facility and technology improvements and helps to coordinate the efforts to complete the improvement. Oversee branch security, security policy and alarm systems. Ensure sufficient office supplies.

12. Participates in appropriate community affairs. Assists with bank coordinated events. Participates in professional, charitable and community organizations. Develops contacts with potential selected employer groups to expand and actively bring in new bank customers while retaining existing customers.

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Associates Degree or minimum of 6 years of banking or sales experience or equivalent education and experience required. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage both people and operations. Talent for and demonstrated ability to successfully manage both people and operations. Talent for and demonstrated effectiveness in delegating, with follow-up, as necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional appearance and manner, in line with the culture of the bank. Knowledge of relevant legal, technical, managerial and operational issues as they relate to retail banking. Strong analytical skills and adept at problem solving. In-depth knowledge of new accounts and teller operations in a financial institution. Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at one time; flexible; adaptable. Understanding of and concurrence with bank philosophy. Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with all types of people. Demonstrated ability to obtain cooperation from others and build a sense of teamwork. High ethical standards. Ability to obtain a credit, life and disability license.
