Basic Function: A Branch CSR is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling various financial transactions, and maintaining accurate records of those transactions. The teller serves as the face of the bank, interacting directly with customers and ensuring a smooth and secure banking experience.

Essential Duties:

Customer Service:

  • Consistently deliver outstanding customer service, anticipating customer needs and going above and beyond to ensure a seamless and memorable experience.
  • Provide information about account balances, deposits, withdrawals, and bank fees.
  • Resolve customer issues or refer them to the appropriate department for further assistance.
  • Transaction Processing:
  • Accurately handle cash deposits and withdrawals, issue cashier’s checks, prepare change orders, process and examine checks for proper endorsement, and complete currency exchanges and loan payments in the lobby or drive-thru.
  • Is responsible for checking night depository bags and recording proper information on the financial institution’s forms.
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Follow all bank security procedures to prevent fraud and ensure the safety of customers and the bank.
  • Verify customer identification and ensure transactions comply with bank policies.
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed for each financial transaction.
  • Report discrepancies or suspicious activities to the branch manager or compliance officer.
  • Ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures, as well as Federal banking laws, rules and regulations, including, but not limited to: monitoring for OFAC, adhering to BSA/AML/OFAC/CIP policies and procedures.

Training and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in banking, cash handling, or customer service is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: Nearly all the time will be spent within your teller station/ work area. May need to be able to stand for long periods of time. Ability to walk short distances behind the teller line multiple times a day. Ability to traverse one or more flights of stairs may be required.
  • Speaking/Hearing: Clear dictation and acute hearing are necessary for effective and frequent (up to 75% of work time) communication with co-workers, customers, and outside agencies, by telephone and in person.
  • Vision: Ability to effectively use a computer screen and to interpret printed materials, memos and other appropriate paperwork, 75% or more of work time.
  • Lifting/Carrying: The ability to transport files, office supplies, and lifting up to a weight of 35 lbs. and occasionally, up to 50 lbs.
  • Stooping/Kneeling: The ability to access files and supplies, with occasional stooping or kneeling.

Pay range $15.00-$17.00/hr.
