We are currently looking for a Data Governance Analyst to work Monday - Friday at our Branch located at 2605 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT. The Data Governance Analyst at Bank of Utah ensures data integrity, security, and compliance by implementing governance policies, monitoring data quality, and supporting regulatory requirements. This role collaborates with business units, IT, and compliance teams to maintain accurate, consistent, and well-documented data while promoting a culture of data stewardship, integrity, and risk mitigation.
Job Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor's in Information Systems, Data Management, or equivalent practical experience.
- Data Governance Expertise – Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance Knowledge – Familiarity with banking regulations and ability to align data governance strategies with compliance requirements.
- Data Quality Management – Experience in data validation, cleansing, and monitoring to maintain accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data.
- Technical Proficiency – Proficiency in SQL, data governance tools and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau) for data management and reporting.
- Collaboration & Communication – Strong ability to work cross-functionally with IT, compliance, risk, and business teams, translating technical data concepts into business terms.

- Implement Data Governance Policies – Enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
- Monitor Data Quality & Integrity – Identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems.
- Support Regulatory Compliance – Ensure data practices align with banking regulations and assist in audits and reporting.
- Manage Metadata & Documentation – Maintain data catalogs, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation for transparency and accessibility.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders – Work with IT, risk, compliance, and business units to improve data governance practices and ensure data usability.
- Analyze & Report on Data Governance Metrics – Track and report data quality, compliance adherence, and governance effectiveness to leadership.
