The Bank Policy Institute (BPI) is a nonpartisan public policy, research, and advocacy group, representing the nation’s leading banks. Our members include universal banks, regional banks and the major foreign banks doing business in the United States. Collectively, they employ nearly 2 million Americans, make 72% of all loans and nearly half of the nation’s small business loans and serve as an engine for financial innovation and economic growth. Our staff includes economists, researchers, financial analysts, and attorneys, all focused on using data and analysis to shape sound policy. We distribute our research and analysis to U.S. and global regulators, members of Congress, academics and media through academic-quality research papers, blog posts, white papers, comment letters, and Congressional testimony. We also serve our members through our Business-Innovation-Technology-Security division, which provides an executive-level forum to discuss and promote current and emerging technology, foster innovation, reduce fraud and improve cybersecurity and risk management practices for the nation’s financial sector.
Position Summary:
The Digital Director will lead BPI’s digital strategy, overseeing all aspects of online communications, content creation, and digital engagement. This role will drive digital advocacy campaigns, enhance the organization's online presence and oversee website development, social media, email marketing and multimedia content. The Digital Director will also manage a small team of creative and digital staff, ensuring brand consistency and compelling storytelling across all digital platforms.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute BPI’s digital strategy, ensuring consistency and excellence across all digital platforms.
- Lead digital advocacy campaigns, including social media, email marketing and advertising (social, programmatic, multimedia and out-of-home).
- Manage the organization’s digital presence, including websites, social channels, search engine results pages and other mediums to drive engagement and achieve traffic goals.
- Create high-quality digital content, including graphics, videos, animations, websites and interactive media.
- Track and analyze digital metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve online engagement and campaign effectiveness.
- Supervise any graphic designers and webmasters.
- Support live and virtual events by managing digital promotion, livestreams and real-time content creation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support BPI’s mission.
- Establish and enforce brand guidelines, ensuring all materials reflect BPI’s visual identity and messaging standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 3-5 years in creative roles, including experience managing creative teams or external consultants.
- Proficiency in web development (WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Exceptional skills in graphic design, typography, and layout, with the ability to simplify complex topics into visually compelling narratives.
- Experience in video production, editing, photography and graphic design to create visually stunning and impactful digital assets.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI design, web analytics and emerging trends in digital and interactive media.
- Capitol Hill or agency experience strongly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing or Related Major
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to sit for extended periods of time and to utilize a telephone, computer, keyboard and copier/printer.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

This is a Washington, DC-based position. The successful candidate will be expected to work in the DC office Monday-Thursday, with remote work option on Fridays. In addition, employees are afforded an additional 20 days of flex/remote workdays annually.

Salary : $135,000 - $165,000
