Commercial Loan Officer
Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for developing new business, structuring and closing loans. Loan Officer makes and services a wide variety of loans and attends to the needs of customers seeking loans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales:
- Develops and manages large complex commercial account relationships.
- Effectively interacts with customers, with tact and confidentiality and within bank policy in order to build long-term working relationship.
- Pursues business through outside sales meetings with customers and prospects.
- Participates in joint calling efforts with branch personnel.
- Communicates with internal/external customers throughout application and loan process. Provide quality customer services that keep both internal and external customers engaged and committed to the bank.
- Cross sell bank products and services, counseling customers on pertinent product awareness.
Portfolio Management:
- Collects and analyzes financial and related data to establish creditworthiness.
- Monitors customer’s account relationships through financial analysis and ongoing customer contact thus increasing retention and satisfaction, while minimizing risk.
- Maintains efficiency by understanding workflow and eliminating unnecessary processes.
- Identifies, cultivates, and maintains relationships with referral sources.
- Manages a large loan portfolio with minimal delinquency and runoff.
- Monitors customer adherence to loan terms and enforcement of conditions precedent, covenants, and general monitoring.
Credit Administration:
- Handles multiple, complex transactions at a time with little supervisor assistance.
- Solves lending problems and makes effective loan decisions.
- Structures, coordinates, and underwrites all loans.
Compliance:
- Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and comply with all regulations, policies and laws which apply and are within the scope of the position.
2. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in the similar role with a community bank. Requires experience in financial analysis and client servicing, and the knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations. It must have a high level of integrity and honesty, teamwork and ability to adapt to change. This position requires personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, and Outlook) and experience with database and calculators. Excellent spelling, grammar and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate in a courteous, professional, tactful and concise manner.
