Volleyball Coach (Part-time)
Schedule : Weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM (teaching plus set-up/clean-up) from April 1, 2025 - May 30, 2025 (This position runs along the SFC school calendar); opportunities for occasional substitute work
Pay Rates :
Head Coach $50 per hour (approx. $2,250-$3,000 per season)
Assistant Coach $40 per hour (approx. $1,800- $2,250 per season)
Practices last about 2 hours and games last an estimated 3 hours. Some games may be shorter or longer depending on proximity to Bank Street.
Bank Street School for Children (BSC) is seeking a coach for our Upper School Volleyball team. We seek a dynamic individual who embodies our BSC sportsmanship, integrity, and youth development values. Under the supervision of the Athletic Director and Auxiliary Programs team, our Volleyball Coach will train students. The ideal candidate will have experience coaching 5th—8th grade students and understanding social and emotional learning.
Responsibilities :
- Create and submit practice plans
- Conduct 2 to 3 practices / games per week
- Travel across NYC with the team for games
- Weekly email communication to families
- Build relationships with students, faculty, and family members.
- Enforce BSC principles and values of equity, diversity, and inclusion modeling and encouraging positive youth behaviors.
- Supervise students and staff members during training sessions.
- Is an effective communicator who can mentor students.
- Model professional leadership and behavior by adhering to BSC rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of appropriate safety measures to ensure the well-being of students.
- Candidates must possess or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
- High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Has volleyball playing and coaching experience with youth-aged athletes. Experience working with school-age children.
- Experience with youth sports and family engagement activities preferred.
- Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team, as well as develop skills in working with individual children, small groups, and the whole class.
Salary : $40 - $50
