OVERVIEW:
Performs a variety of processing and related administrative activities in conformance with established Bank policies and procedures.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes and verifies all residential loan applications following Bank procedures and secondary market guidelines.
- Obtains and evaluates documents for completeness including: income, credit, asset, appraisals, and title documentation for accuracy and completeness. Researches and verifies information provided.
- Organizes loan documents and update loan data in LOS and submits complete and accurate loan files to Underwriter.
- Communicates professionally with customers, Loan Officers, attorneys, appraisers and lending staff regarding loan status and additional information to satisfy loan requirements. Proactively problem solves in an efficient and timely manner. Continuously following up to ensure application deadlines and customer expectations are met.
- Utilizes Bank approved communication templates, technologies, and best practices to communicate loan status to customers. Complies with these Bank standards and documents that communication. This can include phone, email, or virtual communication with video enablement (like ZOOM, TEAMS, or other virtual media)
- Prepares customers for loan closing, accurately calculates costs and initiates closing process with closing agents.
- Ensures timely preparation and sending of loan correspondence meeting deadlines and department goals and keeping Loan Officers apprised throughout the process.
- Performs responsibilities in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth-in-Lending Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Community Reinvestment Act, and the Flood Disaster Protection Act.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School or Associate Degree.
- 3-5 years mortgage processing experience required.
- Experience with Encompass preferred.
- Must possess a high level of accuracy and analytical skills, ability to prioritize assignments and work independently in a fast passed environment under time constraints.
- Must be an effective communicator (oral & written) with strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
