What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator - 1st shift position at Banknote Corp of America?
We are seeking Machine Operators (1st Shift Monday - Thursday 6 am - 4pm) to join our team! You will help oversee operational activities and ensure excellent quality control.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion
- Load and unload equipment and materials
- Provide innovative solutions to improve plant efficiency
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on the plant
- Log and record readings for equipment and procedures
- Maintains a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
- Set-up and operate rotary die cutter in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Mount paper rolls and take away the completed product.
- Follows quality standards, maintains close tolerances, performs quality checks, and enters Quality non-conformances into system.
- Maintains operating and malfunction/downtime log and required production documentation
- Sets-up and operates other equipment when required
- Performs routine maintenance and cleanup.
- Trains “helpers” and new employees as required.
- Assists with examining product when needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in manufacturing, distribution, or machine operation is highly preferred
- Familiarity with plant tools and equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
- Basic computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Good visual acuity and color vision
- Ability to walk, stand, bend or reach for 12 hours.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to be flexible in your work schedule; OT as required.
- Must be able to adhere to stringent security and safety rules.
