General Position Scope:
The Credit Analyst ensures a high level of credit quality by providing a wide range of underwriting support, including financial and credit analysis services to banking center loan officers. This position is an entry level Credit Analyst.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains individual daily departmental work log for credit analysis requests submitted by lenders.
Evaluates quality of borrower and guarantor financial information obtained by loan officers and submitted for analysis to determine overall adequacy and accuracy of information.
Prepares “spreads” of financial statement information obtained to determine need for additional clarification and depth of analysis required.
Performs comprehensive review and analysis of all financial and credit information related to borrowers and guarantors.
Communicates analysis questions and/or underwriting concerns to Lenders, Senior Analysts and/or Credit Analysis Department Manager in a prompt manner.
Prepares written summary of global analysis (credit memo as requested) to be used by lenders in making credit decisions.
Provides lenders with current industry information and other reports using available third-party resources.
Creates customized analysis reports, when requested.
Stays informed of current bank credit policies and procedures.
Stays informed of current practices in loan underwriting, accounting, economics and credit analysis.
Communicates and interacts in a professional manner with internal customers (i.e. Loan Officers and Lending Relationship Specialists, Compliance, Loan Review, Loan Operations, etc.) via telephone, e-mail, and/or in person.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc.
Completes required compliance training and adheres to the Bank’s standard of conduct.
Participates in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
Makes referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited business school (preferably AACSB) with a major in accounting or other business-related major with a minor in accounting, preferred.
Particular areas of experience required: the ability to work well in a team environment, follow policies and procedures, handle multiple responsibilities, think creatively to solve fairly complex problems, and be detail-oriented, organized, and accurate.
General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive reading as needed.
Ability to make difficult decisions and handle multiple tasks.
