Requirements:What is the role of Grading Division?
The Grading Division is in the Construction Group. Our grading crews build the foundations for our projects. Our grading crews will build large commercial sites, widen highways and interstates, and work on special projects including building the new Hugh Leatherman Terminal for the SC Ports Authority.
What is a Grading Division Heavy Equipment Operator?
This person gets to operate a variety of heavy earth moving equipment (i.e. dozers, excavators/trackhoes, etc.). This person will also perform other tasks associated with the grading operations.
What you will get to do:
- Operate heavy equipment around people and highways in compliance with the company operating safety policies and procedures.
- Perform tasks involving physical labor building, highway, and heavy construction projects.
- Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble and debris, etc.
- Prepare and stabilize soil and other material.
- Maintain equipment to keep best of class standard.
- Communicate with team continuously to meet production and quality goals.
- Perform any other duty as specified by the site supervisor.
Who you are:
- You have 3-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator
