Lighting Designer

We are seeking a new team member for a full-time Lighting Designer position. As a Lighting Designer you will conceptually develop and document designs for luxury residential, high-end hospitality, commercial, and themed entertainment projects under the guidance of senior staff. The Lighting Designer is also responsible for managing Junior Designers and Interns through the execution of all deliverables.
Responsibilities
Create lighting design construction documentation utilizing AutoCAD and Revit design programs.
Hand sketching quick mockups, elevations, or details for use in collaborative work sessions.
Creation of design presentations (decks) utilizing InDesign to compile research imagery, sketches, plans, and written copy.
Manage junior staff in the creation of lighting design deliverables.
Lighting mounting detail drafting and creation utilizing architectural references.
Prepare budgets, cost calculations for all designs.
Assistance procuring lighting samples and preparing in-house mockups in our light lab spaces.
Code compliancy coordination as required, including Title 24 calculations.
Updating and maintaining the product library and sample rooms.
Attending on-site focus sessions as required.
Assisting day-to-day project coordination both internally and externally.
Required Qualifications :
3 years of Experience as an Architectural Lighting Designer with minimum 1 year of project management.
An accredited professional degree within the design industry. Architecture, Lighting Design, Theater / Entertainment, Interior design or work equivalent.
Proficiency in the following programs :
o AutoCAD (2D)
o Revit
o Microsoft Office
o Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Excellent attention to detail
Proven time management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with English proficiency.
Additional qualifications (not required, but nice to have) :
Experience with construction schedules and milestones.
AGI32 or other lighting calculation software
3D Rendering software such as 3D studio max, Maya, etc.
Theatrical or Film Lighting experience.
Hand rendering with Procreate or Photoshop
Sketchup modeling
Bluebeam collaboration
