What are the responsibilities and job description for the Closing Assistant position at BankWest?
Job Summary: Perform and assist with real estate and loan closings. Disburse funds after all closings are complete.
Schedule all closings and meet with customers to sign final closing documents.
Assist with the disbursement process once the closing is complete.
Deposit and post incoming funds, send/drop off documents to the Register of Deeds for immediate recording, mail out all payments.
Maintain records of communication with all partners involved in real estate closings.
Provide backup for the closer and assist Escrow Officer as needed.
Collaborate with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.
Participate in various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.
Attend training sessions and adhere to BankWest policies and procedures.
Community involvement is encouraged.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Some post-secondary education is preferred.
Attention to detail and excellent writing skills.
Knowledge of legal descriptions and abstract/title terminology.
Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to learn regulatory requirements.
