Scope of Job:
Responsible to perform internal real estate evaluations for residential, commercial, and agricultural properties. As the subject matter expert for the Bank; provide independent and credible assessments of real estate value through the analysis of current market data, economic conditions, and other intelligence. Responsible to perform all related work responsibilities consistent with the Credit Policy, procedures, and compliance requirements of the Bank.
Due to issues of possible conflict of interest, outside employment associated with Real Estate sales or Appraisal services are prohibited.
Primary Duties:
Perform in-house evaluations for residential, commercial and agricultural properties as requested by Business Development Officers, Mortgage, Financial Services, or management for all BankWest branches.
Responsible for the review of existing evaluations and/or appraisals for residential, commercial and agricultural properties as requested by Business Development Officers, Mortgage, Financial Services, or management for all BankWest branches.
Accountable to independently research, collect, and verify market data such as; sales and leases for all property types, complexity level, and use. Includes residential, agriculture, recreational, commercial, industrial, or other income producing property types.
Responsible to provide reports, maps, locate, and inspect properties in the field; illustrating market features of the property. Document valuation conclusions according to loan document guidelines.
Gather market intelligence through independent research of public records and the development of working relationships with other market experts. Including; buyers, sellers, real estate agencies, co-workers, appraisers, County personnel, and Bank senior management.
Actively communicate verbally, electronically, and in person with all constituencies to ensure an independent, comprehensive, and credible evaluation for the Bank.
Responsible to stay current with changing standards and trends; actively seek and obtain training and knowledge in the appraisal realm.
Accountable to perform all evaluation responsibilities in accordance with the Real Estate Appraisal Guidelines detailed in the Credit Policy of the Bank. Maintain a working knowledge and adhere to related Bank regulations.
Provides real estate expertise and support to the Business Development Officers, Chief Lending Officer, and members of the Loan Committee as required.
Secondary Duties:
Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.
Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.
Attend, actively participate in organization, job specific training offered, and Quality Service programs.
Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.
Other Duties as Assigned
Maintains relationships with professional organizations and peers at other financial institutions; to provide input and feedback on related areas of expertise to the Management Team.
Supports community through active involvement.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred
5-7 years of experience in Real Estate Lending, Loan Review, or working with County Assessor preferred
Knowledge of Banking procedures and/or Real Estate terminology
Knowledge and Special Skills:
Ability to work dependently and/or independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.
Ability to organize and handle multiple responsibilities while delivering quality external and/or internal Customer Service.
Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with external and/or internal customers
Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.
Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learns computer programs, and comprehends the program output.
Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
