Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholsterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship and a keen eye for detail, capable of transforming furniture into beautifully upholstered pieces. This role requires proficiency in various upholstery techniques, including the use of hand tools and sewing machines, as well as the ability to work with different types of fabrics and materials.
Duties
- Measure and cut fabric according to specifications for various upholstery projects.
- Assemble and sew upholstery components using sewing machines and hand tools.
- Fabricate custom upholstery pieces for furniture projects.
- Repair or replace damaged upholstery on furniture, or other items as needed.
- Utilize power tools safely to assist in the assembly and disassembly of furniture components.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as staple guns, scissors, and measuring devices.
- Experience with sewing machines for fabric assembly and finishing touches.
- Knowledge of restoration techniques related to upholstery is a plus.
- Ability to assemble various components accurately and efficiently.
- Strong fabricating skills to create custom designs tailored to client specifications.
- Familiarity with power tools used in the upholstery process is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
