In this role you will help the Nursing Informatics department: Better support the increasing clinical and value-based demands Improve end user experiences by better understanding challenges and deficits in charting tools. Develop effective strategies to solve gaps in processes that can be improved through documentation enhancements/technology. Proactively identify areas of opportunities to maximize existing technology and or introduce new technology. Better align work efforts with Annual/Long-term initiatives and overall long-term vision of the Enterprise Establish better customer-based relationships that are grounded in trust. Balance out workloads Better estimate and improve turnaround times for solutions. You will need: Advanced knowledge of MS. Excel and Cerner Clinical Documentation. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides leadership and project management to include preparing and managing project documentation and deliverables for projects of small to large scale, in the support of safety and high quality of clinical and non-clinical information systems. The role is expected to provide consultation and subject matter expertise through the establishment of strong internal and external team partnerships and work cross functionally with various teams and people of varying levels. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Leads and works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to successfully manage projects and enhance information systems across the organization. The incumbent works independently exercising sound judgment and decision-making. 2. Builds and supports effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and organizations. Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders and organizations. Leads daily operational activities in support of the effective implementation, maintenance and enhancement of clinical and non-clinical application systems. 3. Provides project management for the implementation and ongoing enhancements of clinical informatics systems. Works closely with facility stakeholders/teams and information technology partners to effectively manage system requests and implementations. Provides project reporting and status updates. 4. Facilitates meetings and coordinates the interaction with other departments. To include drafting agendas, minutes, demonstration and presentation materials. 5. Proactively identifies and mitigates implementation issues, obstacles and risks using appropriate escalation processes. Makes use of project schedules and charters to identify any variations from plans. Communicates effectively to ensure customers/stakeholders remain in a constant state of awareness. 6. Assists in the resolution and escalation of cross application issues; Addresses workflow issues by implementing redesigned workflow processes and assists with associated training. Provides project assistance with cross application support for system informatics implementations, process improvement and serves as a system-wide representative of the department specialty area for cross-functional teams. Partners with other project/team leads, project, and program managers to support the management and facilitation of large enterprise work efforts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess advanced knowledge of the healthcare environment as typically obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare, business or computer science discipline and including four to six years of experience working within a fast-paced acute healthcare setting in a clinical, business and/or project management capacity related to the clinical specialty area. This position requires the ability to project-manage in a highly decentralized environment. Must be proficient in the understanding and use of system applications and have knowledge of integrated clinical systems in order to provide broad oversight. Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to conduct a variety of leadership, decision-making, and facilitation requirements while maintaining flexible, self-managed and detail-oriented activities is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Project Management Certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
