Position Summary
In this role you’ll be a part of the team that designs automated systems and controls, and in other ways, supports our new product development process. This is an in-person internship based at our Brooklyn Park, MN facility.
This position reports to Engineering Manager I
According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:
- Non-Exempt, based on the Professional Exemption
What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborate independently with our manufacturing engineers to determine their requirements, then design the systems and controls to meet their needs
- Integration of electro-mechanical and pneumatic devices
- Other duties as assigned

Required
- Pursuing 2-year degree in a field such as Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Automation Technology, Robotics & Automation, or Electrical Systems
- PLC programming and ladder logic
- Wiring of PLCs, control boxes, etc. in low voltage and 120VAC
- Proficiency in designing basic power and control circuit diagrams
- Knowledge of HMI, such as industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus TCP
- Able to read schematics
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Self-motivated, and self-directed
Preferred
- Use of sensors
- Exposure to ProE / Creo / CAD software
- Knowledge of robotics
