Position Summary
As a Strategic Account Executive (SAE), you will be at the forefront of Banner Engineering’s growth strategy in the automotive and tire manufacturing sectors. This is your chance to lead transformative projects, build lasting relationships, and help our customers succeed with innovative solutions. Reporting to the Director of Automotive Business Development, South, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our footprint and market share while driving both strategic and tactical sales initiatives.
This home-based position is preferably located in South Carolina, North Georgia, Tennessee, or Northern Alabama, near an airport. Other cities in the Southeast US may be considered depending on location and proximity to an airport. You’ll work closely with internal teams, partners, and clients to position Banner’s industry-leading solutions in exciting and rapidly growing markets.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Account Management & Growth: Own and develop key strategic accounts in the automotive and tire manufacturing verticals. Drive long-term growth and maximize product penetration across existing and new accounts
- Lead New Opportunities: Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities. Collaborate with customers, integrators, specialty machine builders, and OEMs to develop tailored solutions that meet their evolving needs
- Project Coordination: Lead national and global projects, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes. Manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting through to securing contracts and client specifications
- Strategic Relationships: Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers, from engineers to C-suite executives
- Market & Industry Insights: Stay ahead of industry trends, actively participating in trade shows and conferences to maintain technical expertise, build network connections, and elevate the Banner brand
- Consultative Selling: Provide expert consultations to identify customer pain points and offer creative, cost-effective solutions
- Sales Strategy Development: Work with internal stakeholders to create and execute innovative sales and marketing strategies. Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage customer expectations
- Product Innovation: Partner with product managers to define product needs, identify gaps, and develop future-ready solutions for the automotive sector

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or other relevant field AND 3 to 5 years of direct field sales experience within a market segment --OR-- Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, or other relevant field AND 10 years of direct field sales experience
- Proven track record of prospecting, building, and maintaining customer relationships in a B2B environment, particularly in the automotive or tire manufacturing industries
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers at all levels—whether it’s factory control engineers or executive leadership
- Enter customer information accurately and timely into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other systems as needed
- Expertise in driving sales through the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word)
- Familiarity with sales reporting, forecasting, and managing sales metrics
- High motivation and a strong desire to succeed and exceed targets
- Able to travel up to 50%, mainly domestic, with potential for international travel throughout North America
- Represent Banner at organizations, trade shows, and conferences to remain current in the industry, provide technical expertise, and increase brand awareness
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with executives, senior management, and decision-makers to close large-scale deals
- Strong background in technical sales or industrial automation
- Knowledge of IoT (Internet of Things) or Industry 4.0 technologies and their application in the automotive or tire manufacturing space
