Position Summary

The Test Technician collaborates with Engineers to identify testing needs, define testing requirements and implement effective test systems; as well as other activities to support our Test Engineering processes in our manufacturing facilities.

This position reports to Test Engineering Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate with Engineers to identify testing needs, define testing requirements and identify the resources required to implement effective tests; develop resources when none are available.
• Interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings
• Assemble and wire test fixtures and related equipment
• Debug new test systems and troubleshoot existing systems
• Maintain/update test software (if qualified)
• Perform tests and calibrations
• Prepare reports, including graphs and charts, to demonstrate results
• Create and document test procedures and test station schematics
• Initiate and document design changes; work with drafting and documentation specialists

Required

• Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology or related field
• Experience assembling and wiring fixtures (manufacturing or test)

Preferred

• Basic software programming experience
• Experience with electronics
• PCB design experience, specifically using Mentor Graphics
• Experience using LabVIEW or TestStand
• Experience with MS Excel and Visio

• Sit for up to 8 hours per day
• Exposed to a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day
• Utilize a computer mouse, keyboard, computer, and other standard office equipment
• Required to talk or hear frequently
• Use soldering equipment
• Use wiring tools such as crimp tools, wire cutters, etc.
• Use common hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drill/driver
• Able to lift up to 25lbs alone; up to 50lbs with assistance.

  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
