Description
Safely and efficiently diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul trucks, or maintain and repair any type of diesel engines. (Includes mechanics working primarily with heavy diesel engines). Requires following safe work practices including but not limited to, hazardous materials, lock out tag out, confined space entry, ladder and climbing safety and hot work. Fabricate hydraulic hoses.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with daily vehicle inspectionsOil and filter preventative maintenanceRepair and / or replacement of the following : engine system, transmission system, clutch system, air brake system, wheel end assembly, suspension system, cooling system, coupling system, charging system and light system.Clean / wash work areas, machines, and equipment with shop air, broom, mop, and industrial water hoseDetail wash parts with industrial steam cleaner machineWill work with vehicle chemicals such as diesel, gasoline, propane, engine oil, coolant, hydraulic oil and related solventsInteract with others in a professional and ethical mannerFollow department and company proceduresKeep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this companyOther duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements
Must have high school diploma or equivalentPreferred but not required a valid Commercial Driver's License Class B with tanker endorsement and current DOT medical card.An acceptable Motor Vehicle RecordMust have minimum two years of experience working enclosed garageMust be certified for air brake system repairsMust have own toolsMust be able to interact with drivers and supervisors in a professional and ethical manner while following the principals of good safetySpeak effectively, write clearly and follow directionsMust be able to lift at least 70 poundsMust be able to physically climb, crawl, and maneuver in and around vehicles in a safe manner.Arc Welding experience (preferred)Physical Demands / Requirements :
