Bantam Communications is looking for a local Ambassador to represent the Rainbow Trout project in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. This is a contract/consulting position with flexible part-time hours and a hybrid work schedule. The Rainbow Trout Solar project will bring tens of millions of dollars of local impact to Tippecanoe County. Working alongside our project developers, staff, and consultants, the Ambassador will represent this project locally by engaging with community leaders, landowners, businesses, organizations, and elected officials as we work through the permitting process and development.
Community engagement occurs at the intersection of relationship building and impact, where strong partnerships are built on trust, collaboration, and a shared vision. In this role, you'll use your creativity and networking skills to build relationships with local leaders across your community and raise project awareness through 1-on-1 outreach, public events, formal government activities, traditional news media, and social media. You’ll be trained on the details of solar development, local government activities, and effective community engagement to help you succeed and grow in this exciting new role.

- An effective communicator and collaborator who can create real and lasting partnerships that make a tangible difference in the success of this important solar development.
- High level of personal accountability, problem-solving skills, and resourcefulness.
- Ability to finesse sometimes challenging conversations with professionalism and tact.
- Residence in or near Tippecanoe County, IN, and reliable transportation.
What We’d Like:
- Understanding of local government and politics.
- Membership in community groups and local organizations, as a volunteer or leader.
- Experience in sales, fundraising, project management, public communications, marketing, or local activism.
Rate of Pay: $25-50/hour depending on experience with a start date of ASAP.
Hours: The ideal candidate will be able to work around 20 hours per week across the community and remotely with flexible hours. This is a 1099 position.
