As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive medical care to patients in addiction recovery. You will be responsible for patient assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation, ensuring the highest standard of medical management. Your role includes developing and evaluating mid-level personnel, contributing to the overall clinical management of the facility, and supporting patients in their journey to recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including history, physical exams, and psychiatric evaluations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure integrated care that addresses both medical and psychiatric needs.
- Document patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans based on established policies and guidelines.
- Provide primary care services and medical treatment, addressing both general health and addiction-related needs.
- Supervise and instruct patients in self-administered medications, including injections, while offering health education.
- Review lab results and provide treatment or make necessary referrals to specialists.
- Manage therapies (pharmacotherapy and other treatments) per protocols approved by the Medical Director.
- Diagnose and treat behavioral problems, offering recommendations for further care and intervention.
- Order consultations with other medical specialists when needed.
- Report findings from case reviews and consultations to the Medical Director.
- Oversee infection control procedures, ensuring adherence to proper protocols and safety standards.
- Evaluate patient care daily, review nursing documentation, and communicate with families regarding care progress.
- Provide information to Utilization Review for determining appropriate levels of care.
- Report infection control incidents to the Performance Team and Risk Management.
Qualifications:
- Active license to practice as an ARNP in Alaska.
- Master's degree in Nursing with clinical training in a healthcare specialty area (from an accredited nursing school).
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Preferred: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

- Adherence to Healthcare Code of Ethics and thorough understanding of state and federal regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
