Position Overview
This position will help drive the growth of our Architectural Metals division by expanding our footprint in the architectural space by delivering high-quality solutions to our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity for an independent and skilled professional who will lead and manage all aspects of identifying and evaluating potential opportunities, lead the estimating process, and work closely with the project management team to bring projects from concept to completion.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Assure achievement of sales goals in support of revenue targets while expanding the recognition of BAPKO in our current geographical area of Southern California
- Partner with Sales and Estimating Managers on sales goals, objectives, and forecasting
- Proactively build on and develop client relationships that lead to a deep understanding of a client’s needs and project goals, which positions BAPKO Metal as the key supplier
- Influence key client stakeholders in the general contracting community by positioning the company as the preferred choice for architectural metals fabrication and installation
- Ensure a consistent pipeline in which opportunities are consistently identified along with proven strategies to secure additional work
- Review and analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation presented by the client to accurately prepare and estimate projects
- Prepare detail oriented and accurate estimates on new projects and work with Operations to estimate prices for any change orders on existing contracts while meeting assigned deadlines
- Create and maintain a database of prospective clients
- Remain abreast of industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high potential projects
- Keep company purpose, philosophy, and values at the forefront of all actions
Preferred Education, experience, qualifications and other requirements:
- Ten years of experience in construction and/or specialty contracting, preferably with at least seven years of experience in sales/estimating in architectural metals.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Skilled in defining effective data-driven marketing strategies
- A team player with the ability to lead by example, with a proven ability to generate enthusiasm and support in associates
- Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional interpersonal skills at all levels
- Ability to build constructive working relationships with others inside and outside the organization through cooperation and mutual respect
- Strong relationships and a well-established network of decision-making contacts within the General Contractor community
- Experience developing sales plans and outlining strategic goals with plans for execution
- Experience evaluating competition, assessing client requirements and developing a plan to secure new work
- Must have a solid understanding of market potential, competition, clients, forecasting and capture strategy
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% throughout the Southern California region, as required, to develop and build strong customer relationships
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to provide updates and sales reports
- Computer skills including word, excel, Bluebeam, and willingness to learn new software programs as needed

Salary : $135,000 - $160,000
