JOB TITLE: Clinic Director
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer
Direct Reports: All clinical staff (front desk, MA, RNs)

Role of the Clinical Director:
A primary purpose of this role is to manage the clinical staff (nurses, medical assistants, and front desk) and direct the clinical sites in order to provide excellent primary healthcare in New Orleans’ medically under-served communities.
A degree and/or work experience with focus in healthcare administration or nurse leadership is required for this position.
This position requires excellent communication, management of teams/individuals across multiple sites, and enthusiasm to empower individuals in professional growth.
This position will be a highly effective user of the clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) to enable meaningful problem solving, training of staff, and measuring performances.
This position includes leading in hiring new staff, and training, managing, and deploying the clinic staff to multiple sites.
This position works in coordination with the QIQA and risk management committees to ensure the work of quality improvement and risk reduction is successful.
JOB DUTIES:
Reporting to the BCHS Chief Medical Officer, the Clinic Manager will be responsible for:
1. LEADERSHIP
A. Promote the values and culture of BCHS
B. Develop and supervise optimal clinical systems and workflows in accordance with established BCHS policies and protocols, and using data when possible
C. Lead in developing, implementing and maintaining BCHS policies and protocols D. Be responsible for supervision of all non-provider clinical staff, i.e. medical assistants, front desk staff, registered nurses
E. Help build support for the continued integration of behavioral health and primary care teams
F. Safety first: ensures BCHS follows safe standards of clinical care
2. ACTIVE MANAGEMENT & TRAINING OF PEOPLE AND SYSTEMS
The Clinical Manager will provide in-clinic, day to day, quality control of people and systems that ensures BCHS standards of excellence are administered and accomplished.
A. Supervise and regularly evaluate BCHS clinical sites
- Supervise daily smooth and efficient clinical workflows, excellent patient care delivery, and effective monitoring of clinical systems
- Relate to providers to understand and respond to clinical needs
- Medication management and inventory; supervising McKesson ordering
- Oversight on the reconciliations by the MA/RN leading the Vaccines forChildren’s program B. Manage clinical staff:
- Manage daily/monthly staffing schedules, fill in when needed
- Approve staff PTO in paycom
- Hiring, train, evaluate: Lead in interview process; supervise orientation and training; perform regular evaluations including 90 day and annual evaluation with goal of professional development
- Participate in credentialing: helps ensure up to date documentation of staff credentialing is on file as needed
- Disciplinary actions as needed
- HR issues: effectively promote the use of our HR team when needed to attend tothe needs or concerns of our staff team member
- Education: design and schedule clinical staff education and training opportunities(occurs at least twice yearly @ booked rooms at Sanchez, NOBA, Seminary, ect)
- Utilizes RN team members to respond to nurse-level patient care issues andother clinical responsibilities (example: refill policy, patient phone cases)3. COMMUNICATIONThis clinical leader will serve as a vital link of communication across the health center and coordinate the work of people helping build TEAM effectiveness. This position will develops routines of effective, team-building communication across a growing number of sites
A. Coordinate (or oversee the individuals coordinating)community/patient engagement events (example Q monthly TGIF patient centered education sessions with Xavier @ Sanchez Center)
- Investigates patient conflicts and bring to professional resolution
- Model de-escalation when/as necessary due to patient escalation
- Address staff and provider conflict using conflict resolution techniques
4. Coordination with QIQA committee and Risk Management committee to help support improvement goals
- Support the work of the QIQA department for improvement projects
- Supports as needed the Risk Management team for investigation and responseto patient grievances and incident reportsJob Type: Full-time

Experience:
- Nursing: 5 years (Required)

Physical Requirements: Lift 20 pounds, walk stairs, lift and assist patients with walking and transfers as needed, perform BLS, and other duties as needed
