What are the responsibilities and job description for the Charge Resp Care Therapist position at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville?
Job Summary:
In addition to performing the role of a registered respiratory therapist, the charge respiratory therapist will serve as a clinical resource and role model for other therapists and staff. They will effectively lead other respiratory therapists to achieve optimum patient outcomes during their shift. Evaluate volume of therapies and acuity of patients for adequate staff per shift and assign daily workload for staff. Facilitates effective communication and resolution of work site operation issues that support Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville in its strategic initiatives.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:
- Associate degree from an accredited program in Respiratory Care required
- Registered (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
- Respiratory Care Therapist license by the State of Kentucky (KBRC) required
- BLS required
- NRP required
- ACLS required
- PALS preferred
EXPERIENCE: 2 years of clinical experience required. Experience in NICU, ICU, ER, Floor Therapies and Diagnostics ( PFT/EEG) preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated leadership qualities at current level of practice and good interpersonal and communication skills.
