Prepares and administers radioactive isotopes and operates scintillation equipment for nuclear scanning procedures under the direction of the Radiologist. Perform in vivo procedures. Knows and observe radiation safety, occupational health and infection control regulations
Associate in Applied Science or diploma from an accredited Radiography program in nuclear medicine technology or a related healthcare field required. If you have a related healthcare field degree, you must have completed one year of full time experience in clinical Nuclear Medicine technology including didactic experience equivalent to the curriculum recommended by the American Society of Radiologic Technologist. Current Radiography license with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required. Must be certified as Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology (R.T.(N)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
