OR Scheduler
Surgical Services I Lexington
PRN, First Shift (830-1700)
Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.
Description:
- OR Scheduler experience preferred but not required.
- Receives and responds to telephone call requests from referring physicians’ offices, hospital staff, in an appropriate and professional manner.
- Answers telephone calls timely, with proper etiquette and with a pleasant tone of voice.
- Develops relationships with staff at other Surgeons’ offices and facilities.
- Communicates to Surgeon’s office any issues with scheduled case(s).
- Always maintains confidentiality.
- Works well with fellow staff members within and outside the department.
- Assists co-workers with job related tasks during downtime.
- Is open to modifications and temporary adjustments for the betterment of the department, hospital, and patient.
- Demonstrates organization skills in providing patient care.
- Organizes workload so there is effective utilization of work time.
- Delegates tasks appropriately and oversees team members in the performance of activities.
- Expedites workflow
