Job Description : Job Title : ED TechnicianThird Shift : 7p-7aFull Time : Full time 7p-7a3 days per week12 hour shiftsweekend requirementsJob Description : ED TechnicianUnder the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the ER Technician / Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct and indirect patient care. The PCT provides excellence in patient care while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Empathy, compassion, communication, and teamwork are the hallmarks of the PCT-nurse-patient relationship.
- Performs direct patient care and related tasks as outlined by scope of practice and including but not limited to :
- Assists patients in personal hygiene activities such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair, and nail care.
- Assists patients with bowel and bladder functions while maintaining dignity. o Records patient intake and output (I & O).
- Collects, labels, and transports specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Changes and transports soiled and contaminated linens according to procedure. o Maintains clean and tidy patient room / environment.
- Assists patients with activity, turning and repositioning as indicated by provider order and in collaboration with the nurse.
- Communicates pertinent patient information / findings to patient's nurse.
- Sets priorities for the care of multiple patients.Requirements :
- Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required OR successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education OR Current Certified Medical Assistant OR Verified EMT Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)Benefits :
