Job Description : PCT / HUCSurgical Services I Lexington, KYFull-Time, First ShiftBaptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas : the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.Description :
- Assists patients in personal hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair and nail care.
- Assists patients with bowel and bladder functions while maintaining dignity and recording I & O. Does
- not leave patient unattended when out of bed for bathroom assistance.
- Assists patients in dressing and undressing while providing dignity and privacy.
- Assists patients by lifting them manually or by mechanical lifts as needed as directed by the nurse.
- Assists patients with eating and drinking and nutritional needs.
- Assist in transferring and discharging patients as required.
- Assists patients in positioning for meals including cleaning hands of patient
- Assists with serving meals and feeding patients as necessary
- Offers supplemental feeding / snacks
- Provides patient with fresh ice and drinking water per policy
- Documents input on chart at least every two hours
- Turns patients every two hours and / or as indicated as directed by the Nurse
- Maintains proper body alignment while performing patient transfer and activities
- Escorts patients during admission, transfer, and discharge as requested
- Assists with ambulation, up in chair, or other activities
- Verifies patient's limitations, restrictions, and plan for mobility with Nurse prior to initiation of patient
- care.
- On Call required-weeknights, weekends, and holiday picked by rotation.Requirements :
- High School Diploma and / or Equivalent.
- Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation.
