Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the MDS (Minimum Data Set) process for patients in a healthcare facility
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments and documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to gather necessary information for MDS assessments
- Review medical records and conduct assessments to determine appropriate care plans
- Monitor and update patient care plans based on changes in condition or needs
- Provide education and training to staff regarding MDS documentation requirements
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to MDS assessments
Skills:
- Proficient in Ostomy care and management
- Knowledge of pain management techniques and protocols
- Experience as a nurse, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
- Expertise in dementia care and understanding of specialized needs of dementia patients
- Familiarity with esthetic laser treatment procedures and protocols
- Proficient in using Cerner or similar electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding and its application in healthcare documentation
- Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center setting is a plus
- Skillful in IV insertion and administration techniques
- Familiarity with inhalation therapy procedures and equipment
