Job Title : Activity Coordinator

At Baptist Senior Family, we are seeking dedicated activity Coordinator for the activity department. Key Responsibilities :
Conducts activities for the residents as requested by the Activity Director to enhance the quality of life and maximize potential for residents with cognitive impairments, taking into consideration their life history, specific abilities defects.Maintain the appropriate documentation required by state and federal regulations, including the activity portion of the initial resident assessment and the Minimum Data Set portion for the residents in healthcare.Develop and implement the interdisciplinary care plan / support plan and activity progress notes for each of the residents.Participates in staff committees and fulfills other responsibilities are requested by the Activity Director.Documents daily resident participation as prescribed in activity policies and procedures.Creates and maintains effective interpersonal working relationships and functions as a member of the team of Providence Point.Supervises Volunteers on a daily basis in participation with resident activities.Creates and implements monthly / weekly or daily activity calendars, for their assigned area in which they work.Maintains the budget for their assigned area and follows proper procedure, and documentation during transactions.Supervises volunteer placement and scheduling in cooperation with Activity Director.Attends care conferences and organizational meeting as assigned by the Activities Director.Develops and implements plans for group and one-on-one programs to reflect the changing needs of residents.Trains and assists nurses’ aids in person-centered activities throughout the day.Exhibits an understanding of Long-Term Care and memory disorders and stays informed of innovative program concepts and incorporates these into the existing program.Provides stimulating activities for all residents on each floor throughout the day.Encourages residents to select and suggest various outings, educational programs and social events for all areas of the continuum.Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy at all times according to Baptist Senior Family policies andprocedures; uses discretion when discussing resident matters.Maintains positive working relationships with BSF Management and providers; willingly follows directions and requests as appropriate.Exhibits professional standards through appearance and demeanor consistent with BSF standards; always dresses and grooms appropriately.Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of work assignments; performs assignments in a manner to meet quality and timeliness objectives.Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of BSF’s policies and procedures; seeks clarification or interpretation of questions concerning policies / procedures from appropriate supervisor.Adheres to BSF’s attendance policy by maintaining an adequate absentee rate and provides proper documentation to support absences when appropriate or required.Always complies with applicable safety policies and procedures as prescribed by the organization, as well as government regulations.Plans and completes duties with minimal direction from supervisors.Follows up with appropriate staff, residents, or other individuals regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns, and uses tactful, diplomatic communication techniques in those sensitive and emotional situations.Providing excellent customer service to residents, family, staff, and volunteers.Qualifications :
Associate degree in Recreation Therapy from a college or university; and or 5 year’s equivalent experience in a Long-Term Care field.Preferred :
Must have some knowledge, experience or expertise in recreational activities, music or crafts appropriate for an older population. Knowledge of the aging process and experience with older adults. Experience with working with Alzheimer’s or Dementia related population.Work Schedule :
Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8 : 00 am-4 : 30 pm every other weekend
