Summary/Objective
The Wound Care Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing care to patients diagnosed with lymphedema and/or a non-healing wound. This care includes, but is not limited to: MLT, compression dressings, wound dressings, sequential and vacuum-assist devices, as well as assisting providers with surgical and non-surgical wound management.

Graduate of accredited nursing program (LVN/ LPN).
Preferred
2-4 years related experience
Required License/ Certifications
Current LVN license in state of TX & BLS certificate,
Wound Care & Lymphedema associated certificate (ie: WCC) within 3 years of employment.

- Application of wound dressings and wound-healing therapies (surgical and non-surgical)
- Application of compression wraps, compression garments, as appropriate
- Provision of MLT (Manual Lymphatic Therapy) Application of lymphatic pumps, NPWT/ VAC's, compression wraps/ garments, and other similar devices
- Record all provisions of care to assist with the completion of the electronic health record.
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles of wound care/ostomy care/ and lymphedema care through education for patients and family.
- Confers with patients and families to address discharge needs i.e. regimen of home treatment, and other details of required care (referral to other facility or healthcare providers.) Works to promote continuity of patient care with outpatient services, home health agencies, and other facilities.
