Summary/Objective
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the daily schedules, charges, stats and other duties associated with Perioperative Services.
Essential Job Duties

- Receives calls from physician’s offices, patients, and hospital departments for scheduling of perioperative procedures, accurately records information, obtains necessary information for patient contact, and obtains written order for scheduled testing. Assures all data and documents have been obtained and properly entered into hospital records.
- Performs clerical duties by preparing, compiling, and maintaining patients' surgical records on the unit.
- Ensures previous day patient charges are in HMS system and reconciled daily.
- Facilitates communication with physicians, Nursing Administration and patient support services.
- Exercises sound judgement in dealing with nursing personnel, other hospital personnel, visitors and others to ensure that problems or concerns regarding the Perioperative Services Unit and other related areas are communicated with appropriate departmental personnel.
- Assists in orientation of new staff members to the order entry system.
Required Education and Experience
High School Graduate or Equivalent
6 months - 1 year related experience
